This policy explains how BiteTime handles information when you browse offers, create a restaurant account or claim a coupon. BiteTime is a UK restaurant-offer platform; it does not provide table reservations.
Information we collect
- Restaurant account details: email address, password hash, restaurant profile, location, opening hours, photos and offers.
- Coupon claim details: name, email, phone number, diner count, optional occasion/comment, coupon reference and the offer conditions accepted.
- Security and service data: session cookies, rate-limit events, audit records and technical request information needed to protect the service.
Why we use it
We use this information to authenticate restaurant accounts, review and publish listings, issue and verify coupons, send requested coupon or account emails, prevent abuse, provide support and keep an audit trail for platform administration.
Who receives it
A restaurant may see the information needed to verify a coupon presented there. Email delivery is handled by the configured transactional email provider. We do not sell personal information or use coupon details for marketing unless you separately opt in.
Retention
Coupon claim records are retained for up to 12 months after the offer date for verification, fraud prevention and support, then deleted or anonymised unless a longer period is required by law. Restaurant account and audit records are retained while the account is active and for up to 12 months after closure, subject to legal or fraud-prevention needs.
Your choices and rights
You can ask for access, correction, deletion or restriction of your information. Email brian5354@yahoo.com.hk with the subject “BiteTime data request”. Tell us the email address used and what you want changed. We may ask for reasonable proof of identity before acting.
Cookies
BiteTime uses an essential, secure session cookie for restaurant sign-in. The site does not currently use advertising cookies or third-party analytics cookies. See our Cookie Policy.
